Client: Local Council (voluntary project)
Role: Concept & Design

Overview
I was invited to support an initiative launched by my local council, aimed at making sun protection more accessible. The project introduced free sun cream dispensers along our beaches to encourage safe habits during hot weather and help reduce skin cancer rates across the country.

The Brief
The council needed a bold, engaging poster to raise awareness of the dispensers and connect with a wide audience—families with children, local communities, and visitors, particularly those from lower-income households.

The Concept
I chose to create a vintage-inspired illustration, drawing on the familiar charm of classic railway location posters. The final design featured a young girl having sun cream applied to her nose, paired with a playful vintage font and an illustrative banner for a cohesive, eye-catching look.

The Outcome
The posters were displayed prominently along the beachfront, helping drive awareness and engagement. The campaign was a success: the dispensers were widely used, and the initiative’s impact led to numerous other seaside towns reaching out to implement the same idea in their own communities.
